TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - HRT Formula 1 team's 2012 contender fails to meet FIA’s crash tests

Formula 1's Hispania Racing Team (HRT) has yet to launch its contender for the 2012 season as the car has apparently failed two of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile's (FIA) mandatory crash tests.

According to Formula1.com, this has pushed back the launch of HRT's 2012 car, known as the F112, to the final pre-season test sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, scheduled from March 1 to 4.

The report added that, despite failing the two crash tests, the F112 successfully passed 14 other tests with its chassis being approved by the FIA.
