Attention, L300 owners: If you have a model year 2024 unit, take note that Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) has just issued a recall on certain L300 units, and your vehicle is one of them.

As directed by its principal company Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, MMPC has just initiated a recall campaign on MY2024 L300 units. A total of 411 vehicles are affected. The concern indicated in the recall is this: “Hard gear shift if transmission is not filled with oil.”

MMPC said in its statement that if a unit’s transmission is discovered to have not been properly lubricated with oil, the affected transmission, propeller shaft, and snap pin will be replaced. This will take about four hours and will come absolutely free of charge.

If the transmission is determined to be filled with oil, the oil inspection cap should simply be tightened with filler plug and a new gasket. So far, only one instance has supposedly been encountered.

“This proactive measure is intended to safeguard the safety the well-being of our valued customers using the affected vehicles,” MMPC said in a statement.

“The authorized Mitsubishi dealers responsible for the sale of the affected units will reach out to customers to arrange a schedule for the inspection and/or replacement of the affected parts or impacted components.”

There you have it, then. If you own any of the affected units, expect a call from your dealership sometime soon.
