It’s an intro that’s been repeated many times before, but it’s one worth retelling because of its amusement factor. Two decades ago, a licensed chemical engineer named Willy Tee Ten decided to make a career shift from supplying alcohol (to distillery firms) to selling cars.
On February 26, 1999, Tee Ten opened his first automotive venture—the Ford Makati dealership. A succession of dealerships with the Blue Oval logo followed, and to cut a 20-year history short, Tee Ten eventually opened dealerships of different competing marques like Nissan, Hyundai, and Mazda. Then he decided to bring in brands of his own: Mini, Rolls-Royce, and Lotus. His latest automotive acquisition is the super-exclusive Pagani.
Now, the Autohub Group is a sprawling enterprise that includes motorcycles (Vespa, Piaggio, and UM), accessories (V-Kool), and services (Autohub Car Car Services, Click).
Last night Autohub celebrated its 20th year in the business with a display and thanksgiving party at the Bonifacio High Street ampitheater. The best products in Autohub’s portfolio were in attendance, with a Rolls-Royce Ghost, a Lotus Evora, a Ford Mustang, and a Nissan GT-R prominently displayed in front.
Tee Ten may have diverged from the career path of a chemist, but he sure knows how to create a good, desirable mix of car brands.
Congratulations,
