When it comes to big problems, sometimes it's the little gestures that count.
Bridgestone is once again bringing attention to breast cancer by selling special pink-colored tire valve caps to help fund research. All of the proceeds go to the ICanServe Foundation, and of course turning cars into rolling statements supporting the cause.
This isn't the first time the tire manufacturer has collaborated with the ICanServe Foundation to raise awareness, and chances are it won't be the last. In 2017, a study found that one in 13 Filipino women were potentially affected by the disease—the highest percentage in Asia, Bridgestone says.
Some of the factors that might increase the risk of an individual for breast cancer include a high-fat diet, alcohol consumption, a sedentary lifestyle, and a family history of cancer. This is the kind of information Bridgestone and the ICanServe Foundation hope to bring attention to.
"Bridgestone Philippines always cares for the welfare of its drivers both on and off the road," the company says.
The pink valve caps will be sold until December 2018 for P100 per set of four. If you're interested, they'll be available at the ICanServe Foundation's pop-up store in Rockwell.
