The start of 2024 marked a change for Chevrolet, as management for the American brand changed hands. Industry veteran Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, known for once taking Hyundai to the number three sales ranking, took over Chevrolet with a new management team. Since then the bowtie brand has been relatively quiet, save for a few announcements of discounted models

Now we finally have a clearer picture of the brand’s direction, along with a new distributor. Hariphil Asia Resources, under Vice Chairman, President, and CEO Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, has officially welcomed Chevrolet to its portfolio. Some might remember HARI as the name of Hyundai’s distributor when it was under Agudo, back when it was known as Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc.

At a formal meeting with its Chevy dealer network, an event themed “Generation Chevrolet 3.33”, Hariphil reported that Chevrolet has been showing signs of resurgence in the first half of 2024. Driven by sales of the Camaro, Tracker and Trailblazer, sales grew by 121% from January to June this year.

The top performers who excelled in sales, service, parts, CRM and dealer management were recognized in a brief awards ceremony. “We want to acknowledge the dedicated individuals and teams of Chevrolet’s dealer network who fearlessly delivered remarkable results this first half of the year,” Agudo said.

Chevrolet’s top executive also showed the brand’s ‘three-year roadmap to success.’ They will introduce new products, open new dealerships ‘in strategic growth areas,’ and present targets for 2024-2027. One of the highlights of the evening was a preview of the future models that will arrive in our market.

“Taking a long view of HARI’s almost 25 years in the business, I clearly see how the ups and downs of our business accumulated to wins—because we refuse to stay down. We always get up, humbler but braver and wiser. I see history repeating itself as we embark on another breakthrough journey to fulfill General Motors’ vision to pioneer innovations that move and connect people in this broad and diverse world of ours,” Agudo shared.
