BMW has bagged a 2013 International Engine of the Year Award in the \"1.8-liter to 2.0-liter category\" with its TwinPower Turbo technology. In the Philippines, the BMW 328i, 528i and Z4 28i are powered by the 245hp version of this engine, according to distributor Asian Carmakers Corporation.

The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo technology is also fitted in the 1-Series, the 3-Series and the 5-Series. It comprises a twin-scroll turbocharger, high-precision direct injection, and a fully variable valve control.

Presented by Engine Technology International magazine, the International Engine of the Year Awards were determined by 84 motoring journalists from 35 countries around the world. The awards were presented at the Engine Expo fair in Stuttgart, Germany.
