Goodyear Hi-Performance Center in Alabang recently hosted an education session with about two dozen female drivers from Las Piñas. Covering safe driving and car maintenance, Goodyear\'s \"Women With Drive\" workshop series is going around the country to promote road safety.
The TRS Defensive Driving Academy conducted the session, which began with a discussion of vehicle parts. The workshop then taught the ladies driving techniques for wet and dry conditions, car maintenance basics and underbody parts identification. The workshop also made the participants observe how engines work, and even change tires.
\"We are happy to offer these educational sessions to our female customers to give them more confidence on the road,\" said Goodyear Hi-Performance Center general manager Ling Chua-Peñaloza. \"Ladies who have just earned their driver\'s licenses are encouraged to sign up for these free sessions to arm themselves with practical tips on vehicle maintenance and driving. Even seasoned drivers should take a refresher course periodically as well.\"
The workshop is part of Goodyear Philippines\' road safety advocacy. Some of Pampanga\'s female motorists also recently underwent the workshop. The tiremaker\'s advocacy program is now set to come to Bacolod in a few weeks.
\"Through community service initiatives such as this, we want to educate motorists to learn to drive more safely and with greater confidence,\" said Goodyear Philippines managing director Ron Castro. \"We hope they will get into the habit of making sure that their vehicles and their tires are road-ready to keep themselves and their families safer.\"
