Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) just launched its upgraded medium-duty truck, the FC9JL7A of the Hino 500 series, at the recently concluded Transport And Logistics Expo. The exclusive distributor of Hino trucks in the Philippines also showcased its Class 2 PUV as part of the company’s commitment to improving the local transportation system through the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization program.

The FC9JL7A is equipped with a six-speed overdrive transmission. The upgraded truck has a higher gradeability of 45% and an increased resume-accelerate gear ratio of 4.88 compared to the previous model. Its wheelbase has also been increased to 4,990mm, and it features an improved alternator limit of 90A. Hino has also doubled the truck’s fuel capacity from 100 liters to 200 liters, as well as upgraded the air-conditioner and power windows.

Alongside the medium-duty truck is Hino’s Modern PUV Class II. Inside, the PUV is equipped with a fixed bench as well as a foldable bench-type for PWDs. It can transport 28 passengers, but that includes standing room.

“With the rising demand for efficiency and reliability that come alongside these improvements, we are confident that HMP’s products and commitment to Total Support will enable many businesses to not only meet their customers’ demands but to maintain a high level of satisfaction as well,” shared HMP president Mitsuharu Tabata.
