The 2026 Hyundai Cup 16th ASEAN Football Championship is in full swing, and Hyundai proudly stands as the title sponsor for the tournament. This continues the Korean carmaker’s long support of the sport, which includes its recent partnership with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This year’s competition saw the 2026 Hyundai Cup Fun Day, where Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) and BPI-MS hosted a youth training camp at the Vermosa Sports Hub. The event took place on July 18, and 75 young players got a chance to train with coaches from the Philippine Youth National Team.
Coach Tetsuya Tsuchida of the Philippine Football Federation led the engagement, and the kids also played friendly matches. Twenty-two participating players were then chosen to be ‘Kids Escorts’ at the Philippines Men’s National Football Team’s game against Myanmar.

HMPH managing director Cecil Capacete summarized the company’s commitment to football development, as he said: “Here at Hyundai, we believe that sports has the power to inspire, unite, and encourage growth among the youth. Through our local initiatives of the Hyundai Cup 2026, we want to make football as meaningful on Philippine grass as it is on a global stage, by giving these young athletes experiences and memories they are sure to remember for a lifetime.
“We are proud to carry ‘Progress for Humanity’ even through sports, by making a positive impact on Filipino communities that goes beyond mobility.”
Separately, Hyundai turned over balls and ball carts to the Younghusband Football Academy, the Imus Football Academy, and the De La Salle Zobel Football Team. The 2026 Hyundai Cup is also ongoing, and visiting fans can get behind the wheel of a Stargazer and Creta throughout the tournament.
