Inchcape Philippines and Stellantis have mutually agreed to end their distribution partnership for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram (CDJR) starting at the end of June 2027. Inchcape does not intend to exit the local market but says it is reorganizing its portfolio to align with business priorities and strategic growth ambitions.

The distributor says it remains committed to the Philippine market, concentrating in areas that present the strongest opportunities for sustainable long-term growth. With this, it is also actively discussing the introduction of new automotive brands in the country.

According to Inchcape managing director for South Asia & Pacific Alex Hammett: “Our decision in the Philippines was really to focus on the brands that we feel have the right product and price that can adapt to the finances in the country.”

Inchcape also says customer continuity remains a priority and that it will work closely with Stellantis in the next 12 months to “ensure a smooth transition, and support our customers, dealers and partners, while honoring existing commitments.”

With the distributor’s local employees across automotive operations, its digital delivery center, and Global Business Solutions office, the company does not expect any layoffs. “We think that the new brands we’re going to be bringing in will be able to look after our employees,” said Hammett.

“We intend to be able to bring in new brands that can redirect some of our talent. This is a portfolio challenge, not a capabilities challenge, so the employees in our team will be looking to redirect into other roads,” he adds.

So, what new automotive brands will be brought in? Mr. Hammett says that he cannot disclose at the moment, but that further updates could follow within the next 30 to 60 days. Apart from CDJR, Inchcape Philippines distributes Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, Changan Auto, and Harley-Davidson. We’ll be eager to see what their expanded portfolio will look like as things develop.
