When you think 'pop-up store,' what's the first thing to come to mind? Probably some modest, up-and-coming local start-up making a name for itself through weekend bazaars or markets, right? Basically, pop-ups are usually humble and discreet.
Imagine our surprise when we headed over to British United Automobiles (BUAI) new Mini 'pop-up' store in Alabang last week, and we were greeted by what was practically a full-blown showroom.
The Mini Alabang Pop Up Store's 216sqm area is more than enough room to showcase three of the brand's vehicles. What's more, there's a full range of Mini accessories and lifestyle products for sale there as well. There's even a hip lounge area toward the back of the display area. The facility is located at the Molito Complex along Commerce Avenue in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. It will be open from Mondays to Saturdays, 8:30am to 7pm, and on Sundays from 9am to 6pm.
Mini Asia head Peter Medalla was present for the launch of the pop-up, which will be in operation for one year, after which the company hopes it will become a fully-functional Mini showroom. "As the Mini community has grown in the Philippines over the years, we felt it was time to expand our footprint in Manila and offer customers and prospects another location to experience the passion behind the Mini brand," he said.
BUAI president Willy Tee Ten also took the opportunity to express his excitement over the launch (along with another important announcement), saying the pop-up would give surrounding customers a better opportunity to engage with the Mini brand.
So, will you be dropping by Mini's not-so-mini pop-up store?
