The Mitsubishi L300 has long been ubiquitous in our country’s business landscape. Just look at any mall delivery parking area, and you’ll see dozens of these utility vehicles being used.

With the L300’s reputation for practicality and durability, it was inevitable for the model to reach its most recent milestone—900,000 units produced locally. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) says that with the consistent demand, it has focused on optimizing its production line, improving efficiency, and further strengthening quality across all variants of the trusty workhorse.

Aside from delivering everything from fruits and vegetables, construction materials, tires, car parts, motorcycles, and the like, the L300 is also frequently used as a people mover. For commuting to work, school, and events, the FB rear-body configuration is a popular choice.

Other local styles of the L300 include the dropside for more rigorous carrying capability, and a refrigerated van for ice and other temperature-sensitive items.

“The 900,000-unit production milestone of the Mitsubishi L300 reflects the dedication of our people and our commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing,” says Mitsubishi Motors Philippines CEO and president Ritsu Imaeda. “Through disciplined operations and teamwork across our organization, we have been able to sustain production excellence while delivering vehicles that our customers have relied on for many years.”

With the rise of other utility vehicles like the Toyota Tamaraw, do you think the Mitsubishi L300 will slow down on its way to 1,000,000 units produced? Or does ‘old reliable’ have nothing to worry about?
