Nissan is bringing something for everyone at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS). Scheduled to take place from January 10 to 12 in Chiba, the TAS is a yearly showcase of the most historic and innovative cars, along with some futuristic concepts and experiments.

It’s great family fun, and Nissan is gearing up for an impressive display. Let’s break it down, and check out what visitors can expect at the Nissan booth next year.

Nissan GT-R Nismo Edition

The probable flagbearer for Nissan at TAS is the Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition (pictured above). This particular GT-R is the most powerful one ever made as it drives to honor Nissan’s racing history and elevate the brand to new heights. It houses a mountain of upgrades and modifications, capped off with a Nismo-branded carbon-fiber hood.

Right behind it would be the 2025 Nissan Fairlady Z, specifically, the one most recently released for the North American market. With its own storied history and particular fanbase, the Z played a huge part in Nissan’s global push and this latest model adds some updated tech to support a refreshed interior.

Standing alongside the Fairlady Z is another bright red Z—the Motul Autech Z #23. The #23 is the best and brightest from Nissan and Motul’s racing collaboration, and Nissan will also be bringing Nismo mechanics to give a live pit work demonstration. Kids will also get a chance to hop in the #23 for a riding experience. Sorry adults.

Autech will also be sharing Nissan’s stage with a pair of modified cars. The Nissan Aura and Nissan Serena both got an overhaul from Autech. The unassuming duo now sports a punchier driving experience thanks to some work on the suspension and power steering.

Nissan Ariya Nismo

On the more ‘consumer’ end of things, Nissan will also be displaying its Nissan Ariya Nismo. Nissan’s all-electric SUV gets the Nismo treatment with an aerodynamic redesign and some Nismo tuning.

For the off-roaders, Nissan will also unveil a new concept for its classic SUV, the X-Trail. The pair of Nissan X-Trail Unwind, and Remastered concepts will sit side by side in all its rugged glory.

Nissan will also feature a concept based on the Nissan Caravan (Urvan in our local market). This concept takes the portable battery from the Nissan Leaf, to turn the van into an all-electric utility vehicle. A disaster support variant will be on display at TAS.

Rounding out the Nissan booth, is a controversial, but historic display. An electrified Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R will be on display for diehards and purists to examine (and maybe ridicule). It’s a fitting display that is a real sign of the times.
