The first Porsche training facility established outside Germany--the Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia (PTRCA)--recently marked a milestone as it celebrated its fifth anniversary. A collaboration of Porsche, Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati and Porsche distributor PGA Cars, PTRCA also celebrated the graduation of its 10th batch of scholars.
Sixteen graduates finished the rigorous training and are now certified Porsche Service Mechatronics. They will not only be employed at the country's Porsche Center, but also deployed to Porsche Centers worldwide, particularly in the Middle East and South America.
Under the nine-month program, the students undergo theoretical and practical training as well as advanced learning using the Porsche Integrated and Workshop Information System diagnostic tool with instruction from technical training manager and global certified Porsche trainer Hertz Pura. To aid practical training, Porsche training vehicles are on hand for the students' familiarization of Porsche's various systems. On-the-job training with the guidance of Porsche technicians--including maintenance services and English communication lessons--are also part of the comprehensive program.
A total of 159 PTRCA trainees have graduated from the program since its inauguration.
