Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the country, is now accepting entries for the Philippine leg of the 2013 Subaru Impreza Challenge. The biggest change to this year\'s competition is that, besides Metro Manila, legs will now be held in Cebu, Davao and Pampanga as well.
Until August 3, interested participants may submit the needed requirements (application and indemnity forms, photocopy of driver\'s license, photocopy of valid passport, photocopy of valid ID, medical clearance, one 2x2 photo and one full-body photo) personally at Subaru Greenhills or Global City, or at the Japanese carmaker\'s dealerships in Cebu, Davao and Pampanga.
The Cebu, Davao and Pampanga dealerships will have 120 qualifiers each, while Metro Manila will have 200, all of which will be determined through a lucky draw to be held at Subaru Greenhills on August 4. The Philippine regional legs will then be held on August 10 at the Ayala Center for the Cebu leg; August 17 at the Abreeza Mall for the Davao leg; August 24 at the Marquee Mall for the Pampanga leg; and September 7 at Bonifacio High Street for the Metro Manila leg.
The last 10 contestants standing with their hands on their respective decals will be the Philippine representatives to the Asian Face-Off, which will be held in Singapore from October 27 to 30.
As in the previous Subaru Challenges, to stay in contention, a participant must keep his/her hand firmly planted on the part of the car that he/she has been assigned to.
Last year\'s winner, Tholmas Gan Yu Shen, kept his hand on the Impreza for an impressive 78 hours and 30 minutes. That still pales in comparison to 2008 winner George Lee, who did it in 81 hours and 32 minutes.
