Tesla Philippines’ charging network has just added two new stations in key urban and commercial areas in Metro Manila. After the opening of the inaugural Tesla Supercharger hub at the Uptown Mall in BGC, the carmaker announced that EDSA Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong will also have a station, but two locations beat it to the punch.

A four-port Tesla V4 Supercharger is now operational at the south wing of SM Mall of Asia, and the first local ‘Destination Charging’ site has been opened in the basement parking lot of Eastwood Mall, Quezon City.

The charging station at SM Mall of Asia is operational 24/7 as it is Tesla’s first outdoor and open location in the Philippines. Like the station in BGC, each port can output as much as 250kW, which can give a Tesla EV around 120km of range with 5min of charging.

Tesla has currently priced the use of its Superchargers at P19/kWh. Fully charging a Tesla Model 3 RWD would cost about P1,140.

The ‘Destination Charging’ station in Eastwood also has four ports, but they’re not the brand’s typical Superchargers. Rates are cheaper at P16/kWh, accounting for slower charging speeds and more time spent at the mall.

These types of stations are meant to go hand in hand with doing errands, shopping, and other mall-related activities that take an extended amount of time, because you’ll be leaving your Tesla to charge for a longer period. However, this station will only be operational during mall hours, so make sure to time your charges promptly.

With Uptown, SM Mall of Asia, and Eastwood, Tesla officially has three operational charging stations in the Philippines. The EDSA Shangri-La station is still on its way, but we can expect more stations in other locations soon.
