A few weeks ago--at the Tokyo Motor Show, to be exact--Nissan unveiled what it claimed to be its fastest GT-R ever in the GT-R Nismo. And how did the Japanese carmaker make such an audacious claim? By revealing that the car ran a 7-minute, 8.679-second lap time around the famed Nurburgring Nordschliefe circuit on September 30.
Nissan has now released an in-car video of the GT-R Nismo's complete run for the "unofficial" volume production car lap record.
We say "unofficial" because there is usually no authorized body to keep track of the "numerous records" set on the Nordschliefe circuit, so anyone and everyone can lay claim to any track record. Not that we're doubting Nissan's claim since the run is indeed incredibly quick.
As we reported then, the GT-R Nismo's run was set by Nissan racing pilot and test driver Michael Krumm.
