VinEnergo, a sister company of Vietnamese automaker VinFast, has launched a global expansion project that aims to produce 100 gigawatts of renewable energy over the next few years. To achieve this goal, it has partnered up with three Philippine-based businesses focused on large-scale solar power operations.
These projects could start as early as this year, and VinEnergo has other initiatives scheduled as far back as 2028. Locally, it will team up with NKS Renewables to farm 1.3GW, while URG Asia and 11.11 Growth Properties will help turn out 1.2GW and 1.3GW, respectively. VinEnergo aims to set up shop across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to help the entire country transition to clean, renewable energy.
Simultaneously, the Vietnamese company has also inked partnerships to develop 2GW of energy in Europe, particularly in Denmark and Sweden. All in all, this tranche of partnerships will add 10GW to its overall energy portfolio.

With these global initiatives, VinEnergo aims to standardize energy production to uphold operational stability and optimize distribution. Manufacturing, design, and the integration of battery energy storage systems can all be done in-house, which should all help sustain long-term operations.

Nguyen Anh Khoa, CEO of VinEnergo, believes the company is up to the task and is eager to get things started. “Entering 2026, VinEnergo moves into a new development phase with the aspiration to become a renewable energy enterprise with global scale and competitiveness.”
“The simultaneous deployment of a large portfolio across multiple markets affirms our capacity for governance and execution of complex projects,” Nguyen continued.
In Vietnam, VinEnergo will also be increasing its total energy capacity to help further achieve its goal. The company also broke ground on the new Hai Phong LNG thermal power plant, which will be able to hold 4,800mW of energy when fully operational.
