VinFast Philippines has launched its vehicle-rental initiative called Rentapasada. Introduced during the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show, the initiative was designed to help drivers enter the ride-hailing and transport-service industry through Green GSM’s platform.

Rentapasada allows drivers to participate with rental rates starting at P30,435 per month (P1,050 per day). This lets them start earning without worrying about the high upfront costs of buying a vehicle. The program offers a fixed five-year contract with an initial security deposit of P5,000, and is extendable for another three years.

Initially, the only vehicle included in the program was the Limo Green, a seven-seater fully electric MPV. However, VinFast has now also included the VF5, a smaller five-seater crossover.

The VF5 (also known as the Herio Green) was strategically added to the Rentapasada program for its cost efficiency. The compact crossover has a 100kW electric motor with up to 326km of driving range. According to VinFast, the VF5’s energy costs can be significantly lower by 50% compared to a gasoline-powered crossover that averages 14.7km/L. This is amplified when considering the distance accumulated by transport-service drivers every month.

Apart from energy efficiency, the Vietnamese automaker also chose the VF5 for its safety features, which include six airbags, 16 smart functions, and a host of driver-assist systems like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. VinFast also provides the VF5 with a seven-year vehicle warranty and a 10-year battery warranty for peace of mind.

In addition, drivers who meet the qualifying ride targets of 250 trips per month with a 90% acceptance rate and 90% completion rate can also charge their VF5 at V-Green stations for free.

VinFast is rapidly expanding its footprint in the country, not just through its vehicles but also through charging infrastructure and programs like Rentapasada. It will be interesting to see how its ecosystem develops over the next few years.
