Why Monster Jam didn\'t happen

We dug around the dirt to find out

As we reported in April, the Monster Jam monster truck tour was supposed to have taken place last weekend. Unfortunately, the planned event dates--August 30 to September 1--came and went without any news if the Philippine tour was either postponed or cancelled.

We\'ve talked to the public relations company that was supposed to handle the event, and according to our source, the show\'s organizer, Feld Entertainment, and the local promoter, Hoopla Incorporated, couldn\'t agree on numerous things, like the ticket prices, for example.

Another sticking point was that, instead of using local--and widely available--dirt for the monster trucks to roll on at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Feld Entertainment wanted to import the dirt itself.

We can only imagine how much the ticket prices could have been if the public had to pay to see the eight monster trucks rolling on imported dirt.

Now, let\'s say the event did push through, how much are you willing to pay to see such a spectacle? You now know it won\'t be dirt cheap.
