Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) registered a 21-percent sales growth from January to August this year compared to the same period last year, making it one of the country's top sellers of commercial vehicles.
Leading Isuzu's sales in terms of market share is the N-Series of light-duty trucks, selling 1,022 units for the period. It's on track to becoming the best-selling model in its segment for the 14th straight year, as well as cornering 69 percent of the domestic market.
Other strong performers for Isuzu in August are the D-Max with 1,844 units being sold so far to capture 19 percent of the pickup segment; the Crosswind with 3,935 units sold for 18 percent of the AUV market; heavy-duty trucks at 27 percent; and medium-duty trucks at 58 percent.
"Isuzu's dominant showing in the segments it competes in, as reflected in the sales results during the first eight months of the year, keeps us very much on track to achieving our target of 13,000 units in 2012," said IPC president Ryoji Yamazaki. "The Philippine automotive industry is presently experiencing positive growth. Along with this, IPC is likewise maintaining a steady rise in sales and market share."
