As proof that its heavy-duty trucks are among the most efficient and reliable in the market today, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently turned over 53 brand-new Isuzu CYZ51 dump trucks to Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC), the country’s largest producer of lateritic nickel ore.
NAC is one of the biggest extractors of lateritic nickel ore in the world, and has a long operating history in the Philippines. The company started selling ore in 1977 from its first site in Rio Tuba in Palawan. Since 2004, IPC has supplied more than 100 brand-new vehicles to NAC's subsidiaries in Rio Tuba, Taganito, Coral Bay and Cagdianao. With the new trucks, raw materials extracted by NAC from its sites will be transported to its processing plants where these can be converted to various forms for use in different industries.
Signifying IPC's commitment to its partners, the Japanese truckmaker has assured NAC of its after-sales support by establishing an on-site parts depot in the Taganito site. IPC will also conduct seminars for the mining company's drivers and mechanics to enhance their knowledge in the proper maintenance and operation of the brand-new Isuzu trucks. Additionally, IPC technical engineers will make regular scheduled visits to NAC's operation sites so they can monitor and assure the optimum performance of the trucks.
