The United States of America is Porsche's "most important car market" and the German carmaker has chosen the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show as the venue to launch its new mid-engined sportscar.
Though Porsche declined to reveal any more details about its latest offering, Porsche enthusiast forum Planet-9.com believes it will be a stripped, lightweight version of the Cayman coupe.
Identified by the online forum as the Cayman Club Sport, the new mid-engined sports car is said to take a page off of the Boxster Spyder by utilizing lightweight components like fabric door pulls and eliminating comfort-oriented equipment like airconditioning to take off between 162 to 184 pounds off of the stock Cayman S.
