If you were unable to buy the Veneno, Lamborghini\'s very special and very limited (\"only three will be made\") supercar, then perhaps this might interest you: the Aventador LP 720-4 50° Anniversario. The Italian carmaker will only make \"a limited and numbered series of 100 units worldwide.\"
With an output of 720hp, the 6.5-liter, 12-cylinder engine in the Aventador 50° Anniversario is 20hp more powerful than the V12 in the \"standard\" Aventador, thanks to a new and specific engine calibration. Coupled with the fast-shifting ISR transmission, the anniversary model accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 2.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 350kph.
Besides the upgraded engine, the front and rear fascias of the car have been redesigned to further optimize the car\'s aerodynamics. The front air intakes and the aerodynamic splitter have been enlarged and extended, with small flaps set into the sides. The rear end, meanwhile, has been thoroughly revised and features an enlarged diffuser and expansive meshwork that further improves the engine compartment\'s ventilation. According to Lamborghini, the changes have improved the anniversary model\'s aerodynamic efficiency by more than 50%.
Making the Aventador 50° Anniversario stand out visually is its Giallo Maggio (May yellow) paintwork, which serves as \"a tribute to the most preferred color chosen by Lamborghini costumers since the Miura, and references the founding of Automobili Lamborghini in May 1963.\" The front and rear, as well as the sills, also have a two-tone design in Giallo Maggio and matte black that emphasize the Aventador’s streamlined shape.
Each unit of the Aventador 50° Anniversario bears a badge made of forged composite--a carbon-fiber material patented by Lamborghini--with the 50° logo and its serial number to denote its series number in the 100 units to be produced.
