The Montero Sport is not just the only vehicle to get Mitsubishi's variable geometry turbo (VGT) system as the Strada pickup trucks also received the upgrade.

Two new variants of the Strada--the GLS Sport-V 4x4 and the GLX-V 4x2--are now equipped with VGT and intercooler on its 2.5-liter common rail direct injection diesel engine to boost its output to 178hp and 350Nm of torque. While the GLX-V 4x2 variant gets a four-speed automatic transmission, the GLS-Sport-V variant receives a five-speed automatic transmission with Sportronic mode to give its driver the convenience of an automatic transmission and the excitement of a manual one.

Adding fun and functionality to the GLS Sport-V variant is the new multimedia and information system, which comes as standard feature. This makes the Strada the first in its class to be equipped with the system that features Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation, vehicle information display and multimedia entertainment system. Like the Montero Sports' multimedia and multi-information display system, essential information is accessible via a 7-inch touch screen LCD Monitor. Besides the useful driving aids like the compass, altitude and outside temperature, real-time statistics like average speed and fuel consumption are also available with the system. The multimedia entertainment system is versatile in function. It plays DVD as well as devices that require a USB port.

The Strada GLS Sport-V 4x4 is now available at P1.295 million while the Strada GLX-V 4x2 is offered at P1.03 million.
