The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced that it has revoked 434 driver’s licenses between October 2025 and June 10, 2026. During those same months, 396 licenses were also suspended for varying periods of time.

While license revocations are typically thought to be permanent, the LTO further disclosed that only 94 drivers have been completely banned from motoring. Others received two- and four-year revocations; however, it is unclear what offenses merited these specific terms.

LTO: 396 driver’s licenses suspended, October 2025 to June 2026

  • 290 licenses – three-month suspension
  • 75 licenses – one-year suspension
  • 23 licenses – one-month suspension
  • 7 licenses – six-month suspension
  • 1 license – seven-month suspension

These penalties were issued under the leadership of the sitting LTO chief, Marcus Lacanilao, who also took his position in October 2025. He entered the agency with a seven-point framework, centered around upholding a zero-corruption policy and modernizing systems to further optimize road safety.

If you’re a frequent visitor to the LTO’s Facebook page—or even TopGear.com.ph—you’ll notice that show cause orders are consistently handed out to violating drivers. These issuances typically come with 90-day preventive license suspensions; however, these can be elevated depending on the severity of the traffic violation.
