You thought traffic on the first Monday after the long weekend was bad, huh? If you live in Los Baños and other southern towns of Laguna, then sadly, you’re absolutely mistaken. Traffic today in the Calamba-Los Baños area is worse than it’s ever been in a while.
Earlier today, a pipe reportedly burst in Bucal, right by the Philippine National Railway. There were roadworks in the area causing heavy traffic right before Undas but was seemingly paused for the weekend. It’s since resumed, but this unfortunately followed suit.

Just for context on how bad the traffic is today, one of my contacts shared that getting from Jamboree Road to PTT in Bagong Kalsada took nearly two hours. On a normal day, that same distance would have taken less than 10 minutes to cover. It’s that bad.

If you were planning to take this road today, it might be best to avoid it entirely if you can. If you’re coming from Los Baños, Sta. Cruz, or other southern towns and cities in Laguna, you can opt for the longer yet hopefully less congested route and get on SLEX via Batangas. There are viable entry points from Lipa and Sto. Tomas, depending on where you’re coming from.
The Calamba Water District has also reported that there will be a water outage until 6am, November 6. For residents in the area, the heavy traffic won’t be the last of your worries.
