The ongoing Phase 1 of the Skyway Extension Project has been the talk of the South the past couple of weeks, largely due to the congestion the construction has caused. We’re sure you’ve seen all the uproar on social media, but in case you missed it, you can read more about it here.
With the completion of the phase targeted for December 2020, it might feel like the nightmare has no end in sight, despite the Skyway O&M Corp. (SOMCO) promising it will ease up by November this year. Now, the company behind the development has released this video, which shows what the completed project is expected to look like. Watch:
The goal of the project is to extend Skyway up to Susana Heights/Muntinlupa Cavite Expressway. It includes the construction of a three-lane, elevated northbound section and a two-lane southbound equivalent running on either side of the South Luzon Expressway while connecting to the existing Skyway. In doing so, SOCMO says it will increase Skyway’s capacity by 4,500 vehicles per hour northbound and 3,000 vehicles per hour southbound.
Are you looking forward to the new lanes? Or do you just want the traffic to end already? Sound off below.
