A new road has been completed far up north in the province of Isabela. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced that the new Guibang-Gamu Bypass Road has been completed.
Alternative road to Daang Maharlika
The new road spans 13.4 meters wide and has four lanes in total. It will serve as an alternative road for motorists to the Daang Maharlika, which the agency said is usually congested.
The DPWH statement read: “By diverting motorists plying Daang Maharlika especially during rush hour, the newly constructed bypass road shortened travel time going to the pilgrimage town usually visited by patrons of Our Lady of Guibang Shrine.”
In addition, the DPWH also said that the new P41 million road is expected to attract more tourists and investors and generate jobs for the municipality of Gamu.
This is one of the new roads that the DPWH has opened in recent months. There’s the new Sibut Bridge in Nueva Ecija, the newly paved road in Aloguinsan in Cebu, and the new Urdaneta Bypass Road. There are also a few expressways, of course, including the likes of the Subic Freeport Expressway (temporary opening) and the new Skyway Stage 3.
