The holiday season is upon us, and that means no number coding on a few extra days. But, no coding could mean more cars on the road, so be sure to keep an extra keen eye while driving between holiday parties and gatherings. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) expects traffic volume to ramp up by 10% to 15%, and mall hours have already been extended. It will truly be a busy time.

MMDA number coding advisory: Christmas 2024

The MMDA will suspend the number coding scheme on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, and the lift continues until Christmas day on Wednesday, December 25. Number coding will then be enforced on Thursday, December 26, and Friday, December 27.
Luckily, motorists will have five days of free reign, as December 28 and December 29 will fall on a Saturday and Sunday, and the MMDA will be lifting number coding once again from Monday, December 30 until New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025.
The suspension on December 30 is in observance of Rizal Day, and December 31 is in celebration of the last day of the year.
