Motoring memo: DPWH to conduct road repairs on EDSA this weekend

Taking advantage of the election holiday

The Department of Public Works and Highways will take advantage of the long weekend--thanks to the barangay elections on October 28--by conducting road repairs and reblocking from 1am of October 26 (Saturday) to 5am of October 29 (Tuesday).

The roads in the metro that will be repaired by the DPWH this weekend are as follows:

* along EDSA between Estanislao Street and C. Jose Street (northbound) in Pasay City;

* along EDSA between Kaingin Road and Dario Bridge I (southbound, second lane) in Quezon City;

* along EDSA between Gate 4 and Gate 3 (northbound, second lane) in Quezon City;

* along EDSA between Ermin Garcia Street and New York Street (southbound, second lane) in Quezon City;

* along Araneta Avenue between Palanza Street and Bayani (northbound) in Quezon City;

* along C.P. Garcia Avenue between Magiting Street and University Avenue (first lane from sidewalk going to University Avenue) in Quezon City;

* along EDSA between Reliance Street and Libertad Street (northbound) in Mandaluyong City;

* along EDSA between Boni Avenue and Mayon Street (southbound) in Mandaluyong City;

* along EDSA between McKinley Forbes and Guadalupe Bridge (southbound, fourth and fifth lanes) in Makati City;

* along EDSA between Guadalupe Bridge and South Drive (southbound, fourth and fifth lanes) in Makati City; and

* along EDSA between Evangelista Street and Mascardo Street (northbound, fifth lane) in Caloocan City

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes during the above-mentioned period, although the DPWH has reportedly said that all roads will be fully passable by Tuesday morning (October 29).
