Planning to stay in the city during Holy Week? If yes, remember not to take the MRT as the rail line’s management has announced its annual maintenance shutdown will take place over this period.
According to an announcement made via the MRT-3’s official Facebook page, the maintenance shutdown will last from April 15 to 21, 2019. That’s Holy Monday until Easter Sunday. MRT-3 operations resume on April 22, Monday.
“Maintenance works that will be done during the one-week suspension of revenue operations include rail grinding, rail cascading, replacement of turnouts, structural testing, and other general maintenance activities on our trains, electrical systems, and other MRT-3 subsystems,” the announcement reads.
“We ask for the understanding and patience of our commuters as we take the necessary maintenance measures towards making MRT-3 more reliable and efficient, parallel with our comprehensive rehabilitation and overhaul of the entire system.”
