The National Economic and Development Authority recently approved seven new infrastructure projects, two of which concern land transportation.

Of the seven projects, which will reportedly cost P45.04 billion, P1.19 billion will go to the construction of the Laoag City bypass link road project. A two-lane road with a right-of-way area of 30m, the project involves the construction of a 3.11km concrete road, including a 735-lineal-meter steel girder-type bridge that crosses the Laoag-Padsan River for the first phase and the construction of a 4.87km road for the second phase.

The Cebu bus rapid transit project, on the other hand, has a P10.62-billion budget and will see the establishment of the system in Cebu City.
