Metro Pacific Tollways (MPTC) has some big plans for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). Earlier today at the Transport Con 2024, NLEX Corporation president and general manager J. Luigi Bautista confirmed the company’s plans to build an elevated tollway over Bocaue and Bulacan.
Dubed ‘NLEX Air,’ this new road network will connect directly to NLEX and seek to decongest the Bocaue and Bulacan areas of the northern expressway.

Unfortunately, no specifics have been shared just yet, but we do get a glimpse of how this new elevated tollway will be integrated into the existing road network. We’re not sure as well if this will connect to SMC Tollways’ Skyway Stage 3. We also have no word yet on when MPTC plans to begin—let alone complete—this new project.
All that being said, this is something to look forward to, as Bocaue and Balintawak have long been problem areas for NLEX traffic. What do you think, motorists?
