Many said it couldn’t be done, but it’s finally happened: Segment 10 of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link project has completed its right-of-way acquisition.
In a short but sweet statement released via Facebook, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary Mark Villar said the project’s right-of-way acquisition is now at 100%. This development brings the agency one step closer toward completing the final 5.45km segment of the elevated expressway.
“We are pleased to inform everyone that the road right-of-way Acquisition for NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 is now at 100%,” Villar said in his post earlier today. “Once completed, this project will help decongest traffic in Metro Manila by providing access to NLEX without passing through EDSA or Balintawak Toll Plaza.”
Villar’s announcement received over 6,200 likes since it was posted this morning, and we can see why. If the NLEX Harbor Link is as big a deal as the DPWH is making it out to be, traveling north could soon be quicker and smoother than ever.
In August of this year, the DPWH estimated that the project might finally be finished by the end of 2018. Are you looking forward to the NLEX Harbor Link’s completion, too?
