Heads up if you’re planning on driving up north in the coming weeks: The NLEX Corporation has announced that it is closing several northbound lanes on Bocaue Bridge to make way for rehabilitation works.

The closure of three middle lanes on the northbound side will begin tomorrow, August 27, 2019, at exactly 1pm in the afternoon, the company said in a Facebook post. This will last until the second week of September. Look:

During the closure, the bridge deck and slab will be replaced, and the girders will be strengthened. Authorities will in the meantime be implementing a counterflow scheme, so expect some traffic heading to the area as well as heading back into Manila.

The company says that this closure will be the final stage in its Bocaue Bridge rehabilitation project. From June to July, the middle lanes on the southbound side were closed and a counterflow scheme was implemented in a similar fashion. At the time, though, the firm said construction works would be completed by September 7.

Again, you’ll likely see a buildup in traffic if you’re passing through the area. You’ve been warned.
