Effective March 2, 2025, motorists using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will have to shell out more for toll fees, as the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has announced the approval of a toll hike on the expressway.

The increase for the NLEX open system, which covers Balintawak, Caloocan, Mindanao Avenue, and Marilao—is as follows: P5 for Class 1, P13 for Class 2, and P15 for Class 3. Once the toll hike takes effect, the new toll fees will be as follows:

“To help curb inflation and cushion the impact thereof on the toll expressway users, NLEX Corporation was allowed this year to collect only 50% (first tranche) of the provisionally approved 2022 periodic toll rate adjustments,” the TRB said in a statement.

“Further, NLEX Corporation was allowed to recover its investment for the newly completed Candaba Third Viaduct by way of add-on toll fees at the Closed System. It can be recalled that the Candaba Third Viaduct was partially opened to the motorists on August 15, 2024 (Zone 1), and October 22, 2024 (Zone 2); and was fully opened on December 10, 2024, without collection of add-on toll fees.”
