We’re just confirming what most of you probably know by now: The expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Friday, August 23, and Monday, August 26, 2024.

The celebration of Ninoy Aquino Day, which is on August 21, was moved to August 23 this year to create a four-day long weekend with National Heroes’ Day happening on August 26. The former is a special non-working day, while the latter is a regular holiday.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has officially announced the cancellation of number coding on both days. For those asking if the same applies to Makati City, the answer is yes: The local government automatically suspends its 7am–7pm implementation of coding on holidays and weekends.

Just a reminder for those traveling south over the long weekend: The South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) began collecting higher toll fees on August 19, so make sure your Autosweep wallet has sufficient load for your journey.
