PNR Lucena-Calamba route officially reopens on July 14

Great news for commuters in southern Luzon: The Philippine National Railway (PNR) has reopened its route between Calamba, Laguna, and Lucena, Quezon.

Rides will start today, July 14, 2025, with the train departing from the Lucena PNR Station at 5am—it is scheduled to arrive at the Calamba Station at 7:33am. The return train from Calamba will leave at 5:45pm, and is expected to be back in Lucena by 8:18pm. Each trip is approximately two hours and 30min, with stops in other key municipalities across the provinces.

A single ticket between Lucena and Calamba is priced at P105, while PWDs, students, and senior citizens can avail of the discounted fare at P84.

The train can also accommodate passengers at the Sariaya, Lutucan, Tiaong (Lalig), San Pablo, IRRU, College, Los Baños, Masili, and Pansol stations. Passengers can also disembark at those stations with regular tickets starting at P15, and P12 for PWDs, students, and senior citizens.

Along with this route, the PNR services more commuters further south of Quezon province. Trips between Legazpi and Naga start at 4:30am, and those in Naga can then travel to Sipocot with the first train at 5:20am. Commuters in Sipocot can also make their way to Naga on the 6:50am train.
