The re-implementation of excise taxes on pickup trucks takes effect this month, and we’re all waiting to see the price adjustments resulting from this new law. For those eyeing the Nissan Navara, the good news is that it won’t be subject to any price increases—at least for now.
Nissan Philippines has announced that the current Navara pricing will be available only for a limited time, depending on the stocks of the midsize pickup in dealerships. Here is the price list:

In case you need a refresher, the recently signed Senate Bill No. 2865, also known as the Capital Market Efficiency Promotion Act (CMEPA), removes the excise tax exemption on pickup trucks, which are more often being used as private vehicles instead of serving a utilitarian purpose—the basis for granting it an exemption in the first place. The prevailing excise tax rates on vehicles range from 4% to 50% depending on the importer selling price.
Earlier this month, Toyota Motor Philippines released the adjusted prices for the dual-cab variants of the Toyota Hilux, with the increase ranging from P103,000 to P308,000.
