Remember the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority's (MMDA) plan to regulate car tints? That news broke out early in 2017, but nothing ever came of it. Well, apparently the plan might finally be pushing through in early 2018.

According to a new report by Inquirer.net, DOTr undersecretary Tim Orbos said that the agency is just waiting for the final recommendation from the technical working group regarding the allowed tints to be used.

The official also added that regulating tints will help the MMDA implement its new high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane along EDSA. Earlier this month, the agency revealed that its CCTV cameras were having difficulty spotting motorists in violation of the HOV lane during its dry run on account of their dark tints.

Orbos said that the agency expects all motorists to comply when it releases the order in the first quarter of next year. What do you think? Will you be willing to replace your car's tint, or should the MMDA find some other way to enforce its HOV lane policy?
