Time and again we come across rare cases of traffic violations that are just...head-scratchers. Sometimes they’re shockingly absurd, but most of the time they’re simply the ones that’ll make you go “What the hell?”

This new case is probably an example of the latter. The Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) recently caught a motorcycle rider who entered the busway. His violation would’ve just been for entering the exclusive lanes, but there were bigger problems: He had no helmet, driver’s license, registration documents, and proper footwear. Heck, his bike didn’t even have side mirrors installed. It’s like he wanted to get caught.

According to SAICT, the rider even seemed proud he was caught that way. It’s not hard to believe, seeing as he looked like he even struck a pose for the camera.

Jokes and rants aside, we’d like to emphasize that the real problem is his safety. It’s dangerous enough to enter the busway on a motorcycle since the bus drivers may not see you; it’s even riskier when you have absolutely zero gear protecting you. This guy was even wearing a basketball jersey, for crying out loud. The slightest mishap would’ve resulted in road rashes all over.

In any case, the important bit is that nobody got hurt. And that this guy’s motorcycle got impounded. And that he was issued multiple traffic violations as well. We hope that’s enough to teach him (and other erring riders) a lesson.
