The Land Transportation Office has been handing out show cause orders left and right over the past several months, and it’s just been one prominent incident after the other on social media. Despite the sheer number of violators going viral, however, it doesn’t take away from the fact that when the agency issues an SCO, it should never be disregarded.
In the case of vlogger Ishi Lee, however, she was initially issued an SCO and had her driver’s license suspended, but she failed to attend the scheduled hearing or submit a written response. She was also reported to have continued to drive regardless of the ongoing investigations, and as a result, the LTO cited her for multiple violations and had her license revoked.

Lee was recently caught using her phone while riding and even recording herself while operating the motor vehicle. The multiple violations she now faces include reckless driving, driving without a valid driver’s license, and distracted driving. She was also deemed as an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
Following this revocation of her license, Lee will be disqualified from acquiring a new one for two years. Her motorcycle has also been impounded.
“Ang mga patakaran at kautusan ng LTO ay hindi opsyonal,” said LTO chief Markus Lacanilao. “Kapag ito ay binalewala, may kaakibat itong agarang pananagutan at kaparusahan sa ilalim ng batas.
“Hindi namin kukunsintihin ang paulit-ulit o lantaran na paglabag sa mga regulasyon sa kalsada,” Lacanilao added. “Ang sinumang patuloy na hindi sumusunod ay agad na papatawan ng kaukulang aksyon upang maprotektahan ang kaligtasan ng publiko.”
