Petron Corporation showed its support for safety awareness among motorcycle riders by sponsoring the first Bikers' Meet-Up held at the Safe-T-Ryders Motorcycle Training Center last February 18 at the Ortigas Home Depot Complex in Pasig City.
Targeted at motorcycle clubs, individual riders and even tricycle operators and drivers associations, the first Bikers’ Meet-Up program included an open forum with Alberto Suansing, former Land Transportation Office chief and currently serving as the executive director of the Philippine Global Road Safety Partnership. In a lively exchange of ideas, Suansing discussed safety concerns with the biker-participants.
TV-radio host and biker Love-Love Tioseco was also present as the celebrity guest for the Meet-and-Greet portion of the event.
The first Biker’s Meet-Up concluded with a short presentation on the dangers of riding under the influence of alcohol. In an interactive demonstration using FatalVision goggles, the Safe-T-Ryder team simulated the effects of drinking on visual perception and the damaging consequences that can result in injuries and even death.
Through its partnership with the Safe-T-Ryders Training Center, Petron continues to strengthen its safety riding advocacy, particularly when it comes to educating motorcycle riders to become responsible road users.
