At the end of November, Porsche will be offering a special-edition Panamera that's perfect for rich folks shopping for a new family car for Christmas. The Panamera Platinum Edition--which is also available in Panamera 4 and Panamera Diesel guises--features "subtle, independent design features in platinum silver metallic combined with expanded standard features and exclusive details."
Befitting its name, the lower half of the side mirrors, the air-inlet grille lamellas, the air vent grille on the side designed specifically for the turbo model, the trim on the trunk lid, and the rear diffuser are all in platinum silver metallic. According to Porsche, the special-edition model's five exterior color finishes--solid black, solid white, metallic basalt black, metallic carbon gray, and metallic mahogany--also create a harmonious and elegant interplay with the exterior's platinum highlights.
Many frequently specified options for the Panamera are now offered as standard equipment with the Panamera Platinum Edition, including the bi-xenon main headlights, front parking assist, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors, and the 19-inch Panamera Turbo alloy wheels.
For the interior, the Panamera Platinum Edition comes with a part-leather interior package (a full-leather package is available as an option). Compared to the bi-color detailing of previous Panamera models, the new bi-color combination patterns on the special-edition model have been revised with the upper part of the dashboard and the door trim, the footwell, the back of the front seats, and the loadspace cover clad in black, and the rest in luxor beige.
Other interior highlights include the standard sport-design steering wheel, the distinctive Porsche crest on the front and rear headrests, and the "Platinum Edition" insignia on the front-door trim strips.
