Porsche reveals plan to develop new model

An entry-level alternative to the Cayenne?
Nov 30, 2010

After its success in the premium sport-utility vehicle segment with the Cayenne (see photos in gallery below), Porsche has revealed plans to work on a new model lineup to target entry-level buyers of the brand.

Porsche said the new vehicle, under the working name "Cajun," will be sporty yet efficient. It will be developed to "further expand the world's most successful Porsche segment in the SUV sector."

"As an attractive entry model in the Porsche world, the 'Cajun' will attract new and even younger customers to the premium brand along with the Boxster, the market leader in the segment of two-seater, mid-size sports cars," Porsche said.

The German carmaker added that the Cajun will be lightweight, agile and easy to handle.

Do you think the Cajun will be just as hot as the Cayenne?
