Although the 2014 Rallye Deutschland saw the Hyundai World Rally Team win its first World Rally Championship round with Michelin as its tire supplier, the French tiremaker is reportedly introducing a new tire for the next tarmac rally, which will be the Rallye de France-Alsace in October.
According to Michelin, as its current asphalt tire bows out of the WRC with an unbeaten record, it will introduce its new Pilot Sport H4/S4 tires at the next tarmac round. With a tread that's derived from the tiremaker's Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the Pilot Sport H4/S4 is supposedly constructed using a high-tech compound that not only enables the tire to perform over a longer time frame, but also offers spectacular grip on both dry and wet surfaces, "which is one of the most difficult equations to successfully resolve in the tire industry."
