Those who diss the celebrity competitors--particularly the female ones--in the Vios Cup promotional race slated for tomorrow, October 12, should now be silenced for good by the results of the qualifying session held today at Clark International Speedway to determine the starting grid positions.
Of the 12 participants, it was model Phoemela Baranda who topped qualifying to secure the pole position for the first of two heats in tomorrow\'s event, clocking a time of 1:16.572. Baranda is one of two female celebrities driving in the race, the other being Rhian Ramos, who wound up in 11th place with a time of 1:25.560.
Baranda beat members of the motoring media, including second-placer Vince Pornelos (1:16.598) and third-placer Top Gear Philippines publisher Jeff Reyes (1:16.715). James Deakin (1:17.033) is fourth, followed by Jinno Rufino (1:18.163), Iñigo Roces (1:18.560) and Brian Afuang (1:21.299).
Top Gear Philippines consumer editor Botchi Santos is eighth after posting 1:21.700, trailed by Aris Ilagan (1:21.721) and Fabio Ide (1:22.092). Actor Aljur Abrenica took the last place with a time of 1:26.577.
