In the sixth leg of the 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 Series at the Moscow Raceway, Filipino-Swiss racing driver Marlon Stockinger finished the first race in eighth place overall and the third in his rookie class to score four points for Lotus, ahead of teammate Marco Sorensen who finished the race in 10th place.
"Unfortunately, I lost two places at the start because I had a lot of wheelspin," Stockinger said after the race. "The top 10 drivers were so evenly matched and consistent--all with lap times within one second from each other--that there was no opportunity to overtake. It looks kind of easy from the outside, but it is extremely difficult to keep your concentration for 40 minutes and not make a mistake, which could instantly cost you a position."
For the second race, Stockinger could only manage to finish in 12th place, although he was still ahead of Sorensen, who took the 17th spot.
"After struggling the first half of the season and after some unfortunate race incidents, I feel more and more comfortable with the World Series car, which is quite a step up from GP3 and is extremely physical to drive," Stockinger added.
