The new Ford Focus TDCi Powershift and the new Escape both bagged special awards during the 2009 Bangkok International Motor Show - a victory that once more proves the quality of cars that Ford Motor Company Philippines (FMCP) builds in its Santa Rosa, Laguna, assembly plant.

The Grand Prix Group, an influential automotive media group in Thailand and the organizer of the motor show, named the Focus TDCi PowerShift as the best hatchback diesel and the Escape as the best petrol sport-utility vehicle in ceremonies held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center.

"These awards are significant to FMCP as they point to the success of our export business and underscore the exceptional quality of the vehicles we produce in the Philippines," said Ford Group Philippines president Rick Baker. "They are also a testament to the world-class craftsmanship and dedication of Ford¹s Filipino work force, which enabled these vehicles to earn such citations."

Now, that's an achievement that all of our countrymen should take pride in. "Proudly Philippine-made" rings true yet again.
